We had so much fun with our "Bouquet to Dye for" class hosted by Sasha Duerr! You wouldn't believe the colors we came up with from our repurposed arrangements... check it out!

Week 2 down at the new shop and it feels so good! Over the past month we've transformed our little space into an airy, crisp haven that is spilling over with amazing flowers and botanical cuttings from our growers. Young pomegranates, juicy branches of blackberry with red, black, and green berries all at once, and perfect star shaped Swan garden roses.
The farm is chugging along too! Our bulb house is up and Linda uprooted just about every weed within a 10 foot radius of the farm. (I even caught her sweeping the street!)
It is so wonderful to see all of our hard work mounting into something beautiful and to connect with our customers over a love of plants, scent, and design. Feeling truly lucky this week and thankful for each of you and your kind words of encouragement. If you haven't made it over to the shop we'd love to see you! Promise we'll send you home with something pretty.
Check out the post of us that Leslie did on her blog Spotted SF. The joy of having a shop is meeting new friends and seeing your work through their eyes. We feel so lucky to see all our fun and hardwork in such a beautiful post. wp.me/p2WMXh-1U3 Thank you Leslie!
Such fun news! We're hosting a party here in Old Oakland and yours truly is doing all the event design work. I love these kinds of parties where you can use your head for whatever whimsical fancy you want, so different from the usual work we do most of the time. Here's the invite, hope to see you all there.
p.s. if you want a little extra special discount treat be sure to RSVP here.
Join us for a spring evening of farm food under the hanging lights, fresh cut flowers set on the gorgeous farm tables of SOBU with the metal workings of Kate Ellen of Crown Nine. The first of our seasonal suppers features a wonderful new food delivery supper service by Kelsie Kerr and her new venture Standard Fare.
Date: Saturday, May 31st
Tickets are on sale in store or through our online shop here.
We're so excited, and honored, to be mentioned by Melissa in one of her lovely pieces about Oakland. We love Oakland, Old Oakland especially but it's our home what can we say. The first place I fell in love with when we moved here was the space we're so lucky to go to everyday for work. It's like stepping into another world.
We can't wait for her book "This Is Oakland" to arrive hot off the presses. http://www.thisisoaklandbook.com
We've been having so much fun with our alley way having tea tastings and wanted to introduce you to our new friends to us from our Valentines Day event with Good Eggs Natalie and Alicia of Natty Cakes.
"Our specialities include cookie sandwiches and cookies, but we also bake cinnamon rolls, pies, cheesecakes, galettes, etc…pretty much anything! We can also cater for special events, weddings, birthday parties, or just a night in!"
If you haven't already go check out the lovely piece Kathryn Pritchett did on us for Gardenista with the beautiful photography of Liesa Johannssen. It was so fun to have them visit and a huge thank you to them for their beautiful work!
Probably our most beloved product is the CSF. Started to match the CSA of fruits and veggies our CSF offers subscription options of weekly, bi-monthly or monthly and comes either as a delivered bundle of one seasonal variety of cut flowers, a mixed bunch or a milk jar box. Bunches start at $25 with the current season fresh from the farm bundles being heirloom daffodils with dogwood or bright peonies and green figs. The box has three medium jars filled with daffodils, peonies, sweet peas and a small posy of poppies with a wrapped bunch of green fig branches.
Just like days of yesteryear our milk bottles are returnable so you don't accumulate too many vases. If you have vases you want filled you can let us know and set them out on your porch, we'll happily fill them with arranged bouquets each week.
Soon we'll be delivering through Good Eggs and couldn't be more excited so we'll keep you posted!
You're all invited to our grand opening on Friday, December 6th. For the special opening a delight selection from Five Mountains Herloom Organic tea will be at our "tea bar" as well as the beautiful letterpress work of Richard Seibert. These special pieces have never been available to the public and we are so honored to be able to bring them to you so swing by and snatch one up.
The day is finally approaching and we can hardly wait to unveil our brick and mortar. Here's the before and soon there will be an after once we quite literally sit here and watch the paint dry.
Last year we brought in New Year with a lovely wedding in Stinson Beach. Claire Pritchett just emailed us to say the pictures and story are up on Martha Stewart Weddings. Check out the whole wedding here. I would agree with the bride, New Year's is the perfect day to get married, finally a reason to stay awake and celebrate. An anniversary with fireworks every year, brilliant!
We're excited to announce that we've found a new home. The new shop will be opening for the holidays and we're so excited! We'll be located in Old Historic Oakland just blocks from our flower farm. A pretty perfect location. Look back soon to learn more. Good things come to those who wait could never be more true.
It's taken a ton of time to figure out what would work as our delivery vehicle. Something that could fit in city delivery zones easily, take to the roads from tunnel to bridge and just be the right fit for who we are. Queu the trumpets and VOILA! Our choice is the beautiful Citroen Truckette. It will be shipping our way as soon as we get all the loose ends tied up, soon may not be the best word but six months isn't so bad, right?
We're so closed to finishing the farm it looks amazing. I love our little industrious space. Somehow all those cars passing by makes a rhythm as you pull weeds and paint. The celebration party to open will be in September although these last six months we've been keeping our small batch of flowers going for all our faithful CSF customers. THANK YOU!
You may have noticed we haven't been open the last few days. Our lease was up and we're in the middle of hoping to re-open asap however the Ferry Building may not renew our lease. We'd be so sad to leave so cross you're fingers for us. It's been the perfect place and such lovely neighbors all around!
We'll keep you updated. Until then we're busy getting the spring farm flowers ready and building the greenhouse. You can reach us by phone for all weekly and monthly CSF pick ups 415.608.2040.
Classes will be up soon as well.
Thank you to all who've emailed to let the Ferry Building know we'd be missed!
