Budding Artists, Explore Your Art

The FloraCulturalSociety is hosting a floral drawing class for children this August!

This class is specially created for us and is based upon Carolyn Fee's course for young children, taught both in schools and privately, which is based upon projects which encourage further discovery of each child's unique relationship with art making utilizing music, language and the adventure of keen observation of the world around them.

We will be engaged in a drawing process which encourages noticing the wondrous in nature through visually exploring and recording the floral world. We will be keeping in mind that when we draw, we are touching the world in an original way.  Following the drawing, we will create a water color collage based upon our drawing experience.

Open to all skill levels, particular processes will be adapted for varying ages in the group

ages 6-12 (email Carolyn for exceptions) and parents who would like to join the fun!

About Carolyn:

Carolyn Fee is an artist, educator, and art consultant.  She is the founder and teacher of "For the Love of Drawing", a course dedicated to deepening the drawing experience.  She has been teaching drawing for fifteen years.

"Under Carolyn's tutelage we have all created drawings we never would have thought we could accomplish.  I think it is because Carolyn has an uncanny ability of seeing what you can do, even when you can't see it for yourself.  What I have found most remarkable is her ability to hone in on the uniqueness of each student's style without dismissing their work even when it may fail to meet the technical goals at the hand.  She pushes them to find their own hand print."

Please direct any questions you have regarding this workshop to Carolyn at carolynfee@comcast.net

All supplies will be provided

Light snacks will be served

Class held on Saturday, August 8th, 10-12pm
