Because we had so much fun the first time, we are co-hosting another natural dying class this summer with Sasha Duerr!
The class will be held on Saturday July 18th from 10-1pm at the FloraCultural Society
We are very excited to be partnering with natural dye expert, Sasha Duerr for this event. Sasha is an artist and designer who works with natural dyes and fibers, creatively repurposing our everyday environment into vibrant organic color. Author of The Handbook of Natural Plant Dyes, Duerr is an expert in retrieving color from local plants throughout each season. Her work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Selvedge, The Huffington Post and Whole Living.
In this course, we will make dye baths using Zinnias, Coreopsis, Hollyhock, Pokeberry and Indigo, giving us an array of colors to dye with! We will supply a set of six beautiful table napkins for each student to dye, and take home with them at the end of the class.
Beer from the Trappist and a light lunch will be provided
